I possess moderate skills in various sports, including basketball, mountain biking, running, football, swimming, chess, and winter sports like skating. In addition, I indulge in writing articles and poems that address current issues relating to my home country of Ethiopia and my profession.
Out of all the sports, basketball holds a special place in my heart. I had the honor of playing for the Ethiopia National Basketball team in the past. Here in Finland, I participated in the 2nd and 3rd divisions with the YMCA #YOKORIS team.
Previously, I was also a member of the PakilaVisa basketball team, competing at different levels. Although I am currently not actively playing in any team, I still enjoy basketball as a hobby.

Furthermore, I had the privilege of being part of the coaching staff for the HNMKY under 14 basketball team, which became the Finnish Champion during the 2021-2022 season!

In 1999, I co-founded the Addis Young Sport Club (MTB) team and introduced mountain biking to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. It was a memorable year for me as I had the opportunity to showcase myself and my country in one of the world’s top mountain bike magazines, MBG. A friend who served as the Mountain Bike Coordinator in UCI approached me to write about mountain biking in Ethiopia and share my personal experiences. It was an incredible opportunity, and I was able to contribute the following text. The picture on the top right features my friends Peter Clement (from Austria), Addis, myself, and Nebyou at the summit of Entoto Mountain, standing 3,200 meters above sea level.

In 2005, I also had the privilege of co-founding the Ethio-Fin Sport Club here in Helsinki, Finland. The club aimed to foster a sense of camaraderie, allowing Ethiopians, Finns, and individuals with Ethiopian roots to come together, share ideas, experiences, and engage in sports activities in a spirit of unity.
