I often ponder the definition of the Ethiopian dream—an intricate blend of abundant natural resources, a rich history, a society teeming with diverse ethnicities, cultures, and languages, yet plagued by corruption and prolonged domestic conflicts.
How will the aspirations and dreams of the next generation be shaped and articulated? What does Ethiopia signify in the visible dreams of both the present and future generations?

I carry those value with me till now

Born and raised in the capital, Addis Ababa, without the basic privileges and insights into the country’s future, I recall the lessons of patriotism and independence instilled in me during my childhood. These values have endured, but the elusive concept of “the Ethiopian dream” remained undefined.

My journey through childhood provided me with perspectives to perceive the world in various lights. Despite achieving several milestones, I lack a benchmark to measure against the so-called “ETHIOPIAN DREAM” and determine whether I’ve realized it.
I ardently seek answers, envisioning a unique Ethiopian dream crafted by its citizens—a dream embodying peace, prosperity, hope, equal rights, free speech, equal opportunities, democracy fueled by justice, and empowered by humanity.

When can the “Ethiopian Dream” trademark be personalized?

While I applaud Ethiopia’s preservation of its sovereignty, is independence alone sufficient without a shared purpose for prosperity and a defined Ethiopian dream?

I am heartened by current initiatives leveraging the country’s natural resources to propel us towards the envisioned dream. Educating citizens across diverse facets is pivotal to transforming mindsets and building a brighter future.

The government bears a significant role in customizing the “Ethiopian Dream” in collaboration with the people. There exists a substantial opportunity to shape this vision collectively, with everyone contributing to defining the Ethiopian Dream.

Ethiopian’s have to be cynical …

Acknowledging existential threats hindering the Ethiopian dream, we must collectively address these crises to safeguard our aspirations. Whether completing the GERD or fostering internal peace, Ethiopians need to be pragmatic in pursuing their dreams.

Leadership that instills hope and devises ambitious plans is vital for customizing Ethiopia’s dream collectively. This demands compassionate leaders and patriots working collaboratively to build a shared home.

Once this ideological concept is created and implemented, the new generation can set goals, striving to achieve the Ethiopian dream and passing it down as a tradition. I recognize that merely creating a vision isn’t enough; it must be realistic and accomplished by the majority.

Being Ethiopian and residing in the country holds profound meaning, as many of us aspire to be part of and concretely contribute to this collective vision.

Let’s pledge to shape the Ethiopian dream concept together!
