Today I want to share with you my experiance about the climate condition in Finland and Ethiopia.

Luckley, when I was arrived for the first time in Finland, it was July and of course very sunny, warm and most of the peoples I mate was friendly. While I was discussing with different peoples, one thing makes me surprise was everybody appreciate the sunshine more than anything. I didn’t understand why peoples that much appreciate the sunshine, because my experience is very different. In Ethiopia, the sun is shining throughout the year and most of the time peoples are tired of sunshine because of high temperature.

I know most of you know the difference between Finland and Ethiopia weather condition, however I want to share how the Finnish peoples are feeling and how they react depends on the changing of seasons.

Now summer is already finished and autumn is started so the feeling of the Finnish peoples also changes together with the weather condition. This time the darkness, the coldness and the rain started and peoples starts feeling anxious about the change of the weather conditions. Some of them are even stressed and depressed of it.

On the other hand, I enjoy the change of the seasons from summer to autumn. This time the color of the leafs in the tree are so beautiful. I enjoy and feel relaxing by the early morning and the evening fresh weather. Specially, while riding my mountain bike or having jogging with my music doesn’t give me a chance to remember the darkness of the autumn.

In my mind if someone is busy by work and have hobby that create a chance to meet different peoples, there is no way to be anxious about the change of the weather. If someone have family and kinds that have different hobby, then there is no way even to think whether it is raining, dark or snowing. You always are running after time.

One big secrete for not being anxious by the changing of the seasons is to believe that nobody can change the routine of changing the weather. By nature Finland is happened to be near to the north-pole of the world and that can’t be changed by anyone so Ethiopia too near to equator. Once the reality is acknoweledge, it helps to be familier with the changing of the seasons and try to find how to enjoy it. This way of attitude helps me to not to be anxioused the change of seasons, but to embrace the environment.

I also enjoy the winter season. I have learned how to skate on ice and I enjoy it. The big challenging in winter is driving a car. Fortunately in Finland you can have winter tyre and it is compulsory to put in the car. Otherwise, it is not even think to drive a hundred meter. In the winter, the temperature and the amount of snow is much more than central or southern european, depends on the type of the seasons. I prefer to have more snow but not more than minus ten degree temperature. Sometimes the temperature rich minus 20 – 30 degree.

The winter time “theft” the social life of the Finnish people. Sometime Someof them didn’t even greet to their friends or work colleagues. Specially if you have been together with anyone yesterday night, and if you greet him/her the next day, you won’t get response at all. That is the typical Finnish behavior in winter.

I specially love the Christmas time. That is something I don’t want to miss every year. Though peoples are stressed on buying the gift to their relatives, I mostly like the declaration of the “Christmas peace” and the time how relatives being together in every Christmas. In Finland, Christmas is one of the best holiday next to midsummer “Juhannus”.

They are well organized for any weather changes and there is no surprise at all. They also known how to enjoy every seasons even though they are anxious of it.

When spring season approaches, everybody feels the sunshine and peoples react as if the life starts once again. Usually peoples planning how to welcome the summer by preparing the backyard putting the flowers etc. It is also time to takeoff the winter close by May. Actually May the first is one of the best holidays “VAPPUA” that specially the youngsters drinking until they get blackout. It is time for the upper schools to make a big step to the next level. In one month time the school seasons is about to close and everybody is so busy for preparing the upcoming summertime.

Summer is extremely missed and waiting by any Finnish peoples. The school is closed, the holidays starts and the party begins. Everyone is happy, friendly moreover welling to communicate even with the strangers. Sumer time make Finnish peoples more friendly than ever.

Even though the people of Finland anxious about the changing weather, the majority are so happy in their life and their economical status.
