It is so funny to be addicted in sport. I am one of them who really can’t live with out any sport activity.

I have been playing basketball from my childhood till now. I am hooked on it and of course I am also passed this wonderful hobby to my son to make myself a typical father. However, only playing basketball is not enough now a days, this time I am on my way to Bilbao to attend once in a lifetime experience that is World Basketball championship 2014.

Back in Ethiopia, I used to play for the national team for 8 years. In that longtime period of a team member, I didn’t get a chance to play not even African championship as Ethiopian team was not that much strong as other African team like Egypt, Angola…

I have got a chance to play in Egypt as a member of Ethiopian national basketball team for Eastern African qualification against Egypt and Kenya. Playing basketball as national team level in big competition was every players dream. I am also one of those players, but didn’t make it 😦
Actually, at this moment watching World Championship is one of the best thing I dream to archive. This happened together with one of my basketball team KEKO, which I am playing with them in 4th division here in Finland.

It was 2012 autumn when we knew that the Finland team was qualified for the European basketball championship that was held in Slovenia 2013. We decided to be a part of the event and in 2013 August we ahead to Slovenia. We have made ourself different by wearing the basketball as a hat in the event. Thanks to Olli to bring this idea and it was a breakthrough innovaation. The event was very nice and we witnessed the Finnish team beat Sweden, Turkey, Russia and even the home country Solvenia. We have been also “celebrity fan” and they call us “#PALLOPÄÄT” that means ball heads.

While we have been in Solvenia, we discuessed what if the Finnish BB-team makes it to the worldchampion? Then we agreed that we can go together to Spain if Finland qualified to WC2014. The Finnish team didin’t make to the world cup and get 9th place. The Finnish team was in good shape and was one of the favorite team.

The Finnish basketball federation bring one idea to apply for #WILDCARD that allow the Finnish basketball team to eligible for the WC2014 in Spain. We were exited and we still keep our commitment to go to Spain if the #WILDCARD opportunity is secured. Luckley, Finland got #WILDCARD and got a chance to be a part of WC2014 in Bilbao. The very interesting thing is that Finland is playing against even #TEAMUSA basketball. That makes our commitment very exiting. That is why we are now on boarding and ahead to #BILBAO to be a part of the WC2014 basketball event.

Being with #KEKO team gave me a wonderful experience and meet very different peoples. We embrace with any idea that one of us brings to the table. We understand,respect, and keep everyone of us interst. Literary we are men almost the same interst. Earning this kind of adulthood friendship with different ideas and personalities is one of the perfect situation in life timeline, especially far away from home land and (Europe), where everybody is too busy.

Thanks to #KEKO basketball players for organizing this happening to be a part of World Basketball Championship 2014.

I believe we will have perfect time in Bilbao.
